I'm in the middle of finals season right now and as you can imagine that means: I have no life! Period. My last exam is on the 21st so I can't even do anything festive like hanging ornaments on the tree with my family or attend any Christmas related events like watching the Nutcracker ballet. (I WANT TO SO BAD!) I can't even do much decent Christmas shopping..bbooo!
Sigh...all I do is sit on my ass and cram my brain with course material. I can't wait until it's all done! I just gotta tell my self: hang...in...there! Anyways...that's my so called rant about my life. LOL! I hope everyone is doing much better than I am. =P
I just want to share a new Backstreet Boys song I've been listening to lately to get my mind pumping...literally cause I still love them! Haha I still have their first and second CDs lying around somewhere =P I don't care what people say about them..."they are old!"..."they are so out!"....they will always be special to me because I grew up listening to their very first song.
Here's their first single of the latest album "This Is Us". I'm glad they did a dance pop song...it's a nice change after so many serious ballads. Yes, I know...they are riding the vampire wave too. But really...who isn't these days??
Their dancing is still really funny though....so 90's! Ahh I still remember dancing the "Everybody (Backstreet's Back) routine with my grade 7 peers. The good old times!
To me, they are the best pop boy band. =P All of them can sing and their voices are so perfectly together that it still amazes me. Who do I like the most? Kevin...it's too bad he's not in the group now because of his new kid but I'm sure he'll be back =)
Everybody loves Nick...he really proved to people over the years that he isn't just a pretty face after all. AJ, the bad boy who's been through the crazies in life. Howie is the "sensitive" latin guy of the group who can hit some nice high notes. And Brian..omg I love his voice! He got the swine flu recently but he still giving his best in performances. Did I mention he's really funny in person too?
Anyways I don't want to go on and on about them...I'm sure some of you know more than I do..haha! I just wish they can come for a concert before they REALLY retired =)

Sacred Symphonies
While I was waiting for a friend last monday, I saw a poster on campus advertising the UBC School of Music wind ensemble/concert winds concert. I thought why not? 1. It's free. 2. My bf and I were band geeks in high school so we love orchestra music. =P
The event happened last friday in the Chan Center on campus. It's used for all sorts of concerts, performing arts and of course, our convocation ceremonies. It has a minimalist style mostly made of concrete, wood and glass.

Concert winds. They played very nicely!

The hall is acoustically sound of course. I'm guessing this is part of the effect.

This flutist played his solo beautifully!
(I was a flutist but I haven't touched it since high school) ><"
OOTD: bubble LBD from ModCloth (a little bit big on me >.<")
Textured tights from Urban Outfitters
Lace-up booties from Spring Shoes

After the concert was over we went to "The Eatery". It's a pretty cool Japanese place on Broadway. If you ever visit Vancouver, it's worth a try. The restaurant has a funky retro-anime theme. There are daily specials so we tried the Ichi Roll and Green Hornet Roll for a night snack.
We went around 10:30pm and they were still packed with people. There was a live DJ booming dance music like a club and a huge screen playing old anime movies. The ceiling was packed with weird fantasy creatures and neon lights are everywhere. It was quite the experience =P Definitely a place to check out when you are in town.
Lastly, Rushe.com is having a 15% off sale on Black Friday. I'm into the vintage vibe lately and I love their stuff so I'll probably take advantage of the sale =P

Sparklemidori's giveaway prizes
Man it's been a while since I posted. Well, I received Angela's prizes last week but I didn't get a chance to take the picture. Sorry for the delay Angela! Gosh everything was so great! THANKS SO MUCH!! I ate a few of the candies already =P they were delicious =P.
The lip balms perfect during the winter...I've been having chapped lips these days. =( I love the colors in the Pop beauty lip gloss tin haha! Too bad they don't sell this brand in Sephora anymore...I liked their eyeshadow palettes. Thanks again Angela! I'm so lucky to meet such generous bloggers =D!

Procrastinating
How's everyone doing? I've been having a hard week so over the weekend I decided to procrastinate just a little on Sunday. LOL! We got tons of apple from those you-pick-farms so I decided to make apple tarts. It took longer than I thought...so I ended up baking the whole afternoon and delivering some to friends. haha..so much for studying.
I got the recipe from Martha Stewart, of course. Rustic apple tart if anyone is interested.
These turned out pretty yummy. =)
Have a nice rest of the week everyone!

Photo tag that's long overdue!
I was browsing at one of my followed blogs, Beari's Beauties and I didn't realize she tagged me for a photo tag way back in Aug. I don't know if she will see this post but hopefully she'll know her tags are not ignored =).
Hopefully you will continue this tag!
1.) Open your first photo folder
2.) Scroll down to the 10th photo
3.) Post that photo and story on your blog
4.) Tag 5 other (or more) friends to do the same.
Ok in my case, I'm not going to tag anyone because I'm sure a lot of people did this tag already so for those who haven't, please do! =)
This is my photo. The Vancouer 2010 Winter Olympics Main Media Centre.

This place is beside the Canada Place convention center where we went to see my friend's cheerleading competition this past spring. Since it might be his last one, we took time out off our busy schedules to watch. The competition was great! So full of energy and crazy stunts. It's literally like "Bring It On" in your-face. LOL!
After the competition, we went out for dinner and that's when I snapped this photo. I saw this building from the water-up (there wasn't any land where the building was before)....ever since they announce that Vancouver will be the host of the 2010 Winter Olympics. I'm pretty excited about that since it's once in a life-time thing that the Olympics is happening in your city even though the winter one isn't as big as the summer one. >.<"
The games will start mid Feb...around Valentine's day and after Chinese New Year..LOL! It's gonna be CRAZY busy here in Vancouver....and traffic is gonna be a b----! Good thing the universities have 2 weeks reading break because of this. Phew!
