Photo tag that's long overdue!

I was browsing at one of my followed blogs, Beari's Beauties and I didn't realize she tagged me for a photo tag way back in Aug. I don't know if she will see this post but hopefully she'll know her tags are not ignored =).

Hopefully you will continue this tag!

1.) Open your first photo folder
2.) Scroll down to the 10th photo
3.) Post that photo and story on your blog
4.) Tag 5 other (or more) friends to do the same.

Ok in my case, I'm not going to tag anyone because I'm sure a lot of people did this tag already so for those who haven't, please do! =)

This is my photo. The Vancouer 2010 Winter Olympics Main Media Centre.

This place is beside the Canada Place convention center where we went to see my friend's cheerleading competition this past spring. Since it might be his last one, we took time out off our busy schedules to watch. The competition was great! So full of energy and crazy stunts. It's literally like "Bring It On" in your-face. LOL!

After the competition, we went out for dinner and that's when I snapped this photo. I saw this building from the water-up (there wasn't any land where the building was before)....ever since they announce that Vancouver will be the host of the 2010 Winter Olympics. I'm pretty excited about that since it's once in a life-time thing that the Olympics is happening in your city even though the winter one isn't as big as the summer one. >.<"

The games will start mid Feb...around Valentine's day and after Chinese New Year..LOL! It's gonna be CRAZY busy here in Vancouver....and traffic is gonna be a b----! Good thing the universities have 2 weeks reading break because of this. Phew!

I'll try to have posts but there arn't a lot of interesting things happening in my life right now since there are papers due and exams almost every week. =(

I'm really happy to say I won the 1st prize for Amore Vintage's giveaway though! This blue one with the small pearls is perfect for just a touch of old-school flare.

A closer look at Amore Vintage's creations.

My fave one out of the two necklaces. Hehe the rose is sooo pretty!!

Thanksgiving weekend

It was Thanksgiving here in Canada just past weekend. We usually don't have a tradition of celebrating it but because this year we have a distant relative who came to visit and I have an "assignment" on Thanksgiving feast to do for my course...we decided to get the turkey a try.

We didn't really stick with the traditional Thanksgiving dishes but I did try to incorporate potatoes (roasted though...not mashed) and a sauteed green beans dish. I made most of the food with some help from my mom. My aunt and grandma made the baked salmon, blanched prawns and Chinese style soup.

Sorry I had to crop the rest of the family out..LOL! I barely had time to get ready myself after fussing over the turkey >.<" I used the new Lunasol palette here...but it's hard to tell isn't it. I must say, the colors didn't look as flattering as I thought. But I'm just not used to having a more plum sort of purple as eyeshadow.

Here's my dad carving the turkey (half of it is gone already). It's 11lbs I think..and I thought it was pretty big already. Most people have 25lbs turkeys!! We still have leftovers...I can't imagine how long they will be eating theirs. LOL! Yes, it's burnt =( That's because I thought it wouldn't brown well with just oil rub. Being the typical Asian I added a bit of dark soya sauce to give it a bit of color. It was fine at first but when I put a second coat on while it was cooking it made certain areas burn more easily. =(

Not much of a looker...but it tasted fine! Haha! Maybe next time I'll get better at this. =P

Sparklemidori's giveaway + a little bable

Hi everyone! Man it's been a long time. Since the last time I posted...I've been sick twice..! First it was some kind of stomach flu thing...and now it's this awful cold that's been spreading around. My throat infection from this virus is still not gone..><"

Anyways, it's Thanksgiving weekend..normally we don't really do anything special since we don't really have that tradition in our family, but this year will be different. I'm attempting to make a turkey dinner! Ok...I will cheat and use a frozen stuffed turkey instead of doing everything from scratch. HAHA! But there will be some side dishes and hopefully the turkey will turn out ok. *Crossing fingers!* 'Til then..Happy Thanksgiving!

Angela from Sparklemidori is having a giveaway for having over 50 followers..Congratz!! The prizes are really appealing..haha! I wanted to try Etude House stuff for a while now. =P

MIA for a while

I'm sorry for not posting for so long! Truth is my schedule is so packed with course work and volunteering that I barely have time to do anything else. On top of that I'm getting some flu symptoms as well >.<" Sore throat and headaches really suck! And being on the bus and lecture halls full of people don't help at all. I can't help but imagine everyone breathing in each other's germs because I'm not the only one that's sick. Not to mention the weather is changing between cold and hot every few hours.

The only interesting thing that happened these few weeks was my dad coming back from visiting relatives in HK. He didn't have a lot of time to shop for items on my wishlist but he did got me the new Lunasol Star Shower Eyes in 01 Start of Night and a Maquillage lip gloss in BE 360 along with few of Lunasol skincare and Maquillage samples. =) I can't wait to try the morning awakening massage cream..haha!

The Start of Night palette looks pretty. I wanted either this one or the Dazzling Night 03 but that was sold out when he was buying it. The colors indeed reflect essence of the setting sun as Lunasol suggested. Warm yet pretty with the sparkly light pink and plum colors.

When I get the chance to doll up..I'll definitely do a FOTD with the goodies. LOL! I don't even get time to look pretty now that I have to wake up so darn early and rush out the door. I gotta get my hours back in order..><" Anyways til next time...hopefully soon!

PS: RIP Patrick Swayze...I've always love watching Dirty Dancing and Ghost. The Outsiders was also a great one. Even though he got pancreatic cancer, one of the hardest cancers to cure, his spirit was high and he was hopeful...it's really sad to see him go.
